What to Bring

  • Travelling:
    • Progress Report 3, which contains directions
    • Your hotel's phone number, just in case of major travel delays (you don't want them to decide you're a no-show because your flight's snowed in for seven hours).
    • Your plane/train tickets and reservations, if any.
    • Your passport and/or photo ID, if required.
    • Adaptors to UK power sockets, if travelling from outside the UK
    • If you know you'll be late arriving, because of your travel arrangements, it's a good idea to call your hotel a few days in advance, so that they can record this info.

  • Clothing:
    • Old con t-shirts, for the pros and virgins disco
    • Your kilt, for the Friday night ceilidh (but note restrictions)
    • Your hall costumes
    • your kimono, obi, ties and cords, for the kimono workshop.
    • Your leather, lace and generally black gear for the dark fantasy disco
    • Your costumes, music, video, scripts, etc. for your maquerade and cabaret entries
  • Programming:
    • Your notes and preparation, for any panels, talks and other programme items for which you've volunteered
    • Your poems, for the poetry reading, and stories, for the late-night twisted tales readings.
    • Your retro-futuristic invention for the Great Crystal Cyberdrome Exhibition.
  • Miscellaneous:
    • Spending money
    • Proof of eligibility, for any discounts you've obtained (travel, membership, etc.)
    • Any medications you need
    • Old books, for the charity book stall and the charity book auction (depending on tatty/desirable they are)
    • Those toys that you've registered as apocryphal members
    • Your camera (and appropriate films, lenses, cases, cables, memory cards, etc.)
    • Rechargers for your various electrical/electronic items

Oh, and don't forget to set timers to record any TV, etc., before you leave.
