Guests of Honour

Neil Gaiman

Neil Gaiman is the widely-acclaimed author of the award-winning Sandman comic book, as the more recent novels American Gods and Anansi Boys, as well as short-story collections such as Fragile Things and Smoke and Mirrors. His collaboration with Terry Pratchett, Good Omens, has been a fan favorite for years.

Neil has also ventured into other media, writing Neverwhere for Lenny Henry's TV production company, about the mysterious fantasy world to be found under London's streets, and more recently writing the movie Mirrormask for the Jim Henson Company, with his long-time collaborator Dave McKean directing. He is a co-writer (with Roger Avary) on Beowulf, starring Ray Winstone and Angelina Jolie. His "romance within the realms of Faerie" short story Stardust, beautifully illustrated by Charles Vess, was made into a movie starring Charlie Cox, Clare Danes, Michelle Pfeiffer and Robert de Niro.

In December 2007, the Jim Henson Company awarded Neil an Honor for Creativity.

Neil Gaiman lives in America, with his family.
