Art Show
About the Art Show
Art shows at Eastercons have been running almost as long as the convention itself. A mix of professional and amateur artists show work, either for sale, or to showcase their skills and ideas.
The art show provides a chance to buy some art which is in many cases both original and unlikely to be available anywhere else, as long as you can outbid the other collectors.
Entering the Art Show
The display boards for the art show are now full.
There is a small amount of space for 3D art, sculptures, etc.
There is no charge for displaying in the art show but any work sold is subject to a 10% fee which goes to the convention to assist in defraying costs.
The art show is being run by John Harold and Robbie Bourget.
Opening Hours
The art show will be open from Friday afternoon until late on Sunday morning (though artists will likely be hanging work until late on Friday evening) with the auction being held on Sunday afternoon.
Auction
Bids for works may be placed on the sheet beside the piece in question. Any piece of art with a bid on goes to auction; if the paper bid is not overbid then that bidder gets it. Anyone bidding on artwork is strongly advised to go to the auction to make sure they get the piece they want. Depending on how many pieces are bid on, some unbid for works may go to auction at the discretion of the organisers. Art should be picked up and paid for on Sunday afternoon/evening.
Friday Viewing
On Friday evening there will be a small opening soiree to give people a chance to look at the artwork in a convivial manner -- though, alas, we will still have to prevent people wandering around with drinks. We look forward to seeing people throughout the show and hope that any of you who bid at the auction will get the art you want.
